RULES

1. PLAY NICE.

Yes, I know this sounds stupid. Nevertheless, it is the cardinal rule for now. Offer constructive criticism, offer comments, offer suggestions. Do not flame. Seriously, guys. It ticks me (and everyone else) off.

2. PLAGIARISM NOT COOL, YO

I really don't think I should have to tell you all this, but if I don't say it, I'll feel like I missed something. Plagiarism is not cool. If you get an idea--say, from a song or something--and use it in your story, please put a footnote/disclaimer saying where you got it. And don't steal fic. It will not be tolerated. If I find out that you are posting someone else's work (either in here, or elsewhere), you will be BANNED. No joke. Knowing you guys, I don't expect to have to do it, but this is just here so I can say, "told ya so".

3. OBEY YOUR MODS

That's Caroline and I. Guys, this is seriously easy to do. Just do as we say. If Caroline says, "no more writing mean words in the commenty box RAWR," stop doing it. If I say, "El-Jay Cut PLZKTHNX!!!", then do it. It's not hard. ♥

4. PUT PROPER WARNINGS ON YOUR WORK

Here's where I admit that we all may push the boundaries of "acceptable" from time to time. If your fic contains excessive cursing, violence, or things of a sexual nature, put it behind an LJ cut. If there is something that might be "triggering"--rape, any form of non-con, self-injury, that sort of thing--put it behind a cut. Label your work with WARNINGS. Rate appropriately. It's easy, really. Like this:

GThe lightest rating. Think, Disney's 101 Dalmations.
PG Not much higher than G. Think, Star Wars.
PG-13 Not acceptable for children under thirteen. Pirates of the Caribbean, or Harry Potter 4+ fall into this category.
R In theatres, you need to be 17 to see this on your own. Here, it means you need to be MATURE. And not go telling Mommy and Daddy that you read R-rated fic.
NC-17 ...seriously, barring Allison and Laurel and James, we're all under 18, so, legally, I SHOULD NOT SEE THIS RATING HERE. Got it?

LJ Cuts are also easy. They are < lj-cut text="your words here, yO!" > STORY FIC HERE YAY! < / lj-cut text="your words here, yO!" >

...only minus the spaces. Really easy! ♥

5. PLEASE USE HEADING!

This is less a rule so much as a style thing. This'll make it easier for everybody to browse at a glance, okay? Here's the format we'd prefer you use.

Title: ...self-explanatory, I hope
Author: your LJ username, or just your name
Rating: See above
Wordcount: ...self-explanatory
Series? OneShot? If it's a series, say Part (whatever)/(however many parts there are. If you don't know, ?) If it's a One-Shot, just say One-Shot. Not hard.
Warnings: Anything we should be forewarned of? Anything someone might not want to read should be labelled here.
Summary: Give us some blurbage.

6. USE THE TAGS, PLZ.

Again, style. At the bottom of the thing, where it says "TAGS", please put:
*Your Username and/or Name
*Rating of fic
*Title of fic
*Series or OneShot

This makes it easier for people to browse and follow series and the like.

Thanks! I hope this helps, and I hope you all have a ton of fun writing and reading! Woohoo!!
